Papa's Pizza FUNd Raiser Monday, May 16th

Tomorrow morning, Thursday, I will be increasing the dose of one of my pain killers. It's something the health-care providers and my wife have wanted me to do for some time but I have balked at on every occasion. But it's time. The drugs aren't doing their job at the current level and my wife spends quite a bit of time worrying about my pain level, knowing that I'm suffering more than I "should".

It's just another step. There will be more steps on this path. This isn't a step I wanted to take.

The other thing you may or may not know about me... though I'd really think you would've picked up on this one by now if you've been paying attention. Not that you should feel bad if you missed it. OK... wait... maybe you should feel a little bad if you've missed this one. I am doing everything I can to leave my wife with as little burden and damage as I can when I exit, in an orderly fashion, from this fire-drill we call life.

"There's no better feeling in the world than a warm pizza box on your lap."
- Kevin James

That brings us, you and I as writer (he said, using the title loosely) and reader, to this coming Monday. On Monday, May 16th Papa's Pizza on Coburg Road will host one last fund-raiser for us. Papa's has been an amazing supporter, not just of us but, of our community as a whole. If you print and bring in one of the two fliers below and use them in conjunction with any dine-in or carry-out food order (delivery does not apply) Papa's will donate 50% (that's one half for my fellow public school graduates) of that order cost to paying off all the problems I'm leaving for my wife. So, please join us! You can either:

Print one flier to bring in and use with your co-workers or family:

Or, you can print a page with four small fliers on it to spread amongst your family and friends:

Don't forget to save your appetite and room for pizza this Monday! You have no idea how much your continued support, prayers and sometimes just hugs have meant to us over the past few years. As we come down to the home stretch I look forward to seeing you just as often. Don't give up on me yet. Who knows? God may just be getting started.

Beyond our own needs, yes I am aware of a world beyond my own needs, Relay for Life is coming up very fast! If you'd like to donate to our (and by "our" I mean the team Kristin is captaining, friends are manning and I intend to sit in the shade at a lot on the last weekend of July) by either going to http://tinyurl.com/RelayforJoy or by clicking on the Relay for Life "Team Choose Joy!" icon in the upper right hand corner of this page.

We have, also, tentatively scheduled a family-friendly - which means bring your kids, grandparents and aunt Fred - Improv Comedy show on Friday, July 8th with all proceeds going towards "Team Choose Joy!" and Relay for Life!
